Process for mfr. fibreboard esp. MDF Medium Density Fibreboard

The process for mfr. of fibreboard involves the reduction of the moisture content of a mixture (2) of fibre (5) and adhesive by exposure to a stream of hot gas (14) esp. air in a drier (1). The fibre leaves the drier at the correct temperature and moisture content to be layered pressed and hardened. The used gas (6) is drawn off the fibre in a separator (4). Part of this gas is reused by mixing it with hotter gas (11) from one or more sources (12) to provide a supply of gas to the drier at the correct entry temperature.
