Electronic tape measure with non-contact incremental scanning system for e.g. building engineer or worker

The linear increment scanning system, pref with magnetic, induction or capacitive linear measurement scanning for machines or hand measurement systems. The strip made of steel or other suitable material e.g. plastic, is not mounted lying as customary parallel and flat and fixed on the entire length of the longitudinal measurement axis, but is wound on a coil up drum (7) or is uncoiled from this. With the measuring operation, the increment strip (8) passes the scanning head (12) at a selected space distance, which scans the incremental linear measuring signal without making contact. The signal is then further processed and transferred to an electronic follow up system e.g. a PC or can be stored.
