A means of transmitting electrical energy between a fixed supply and a moving object uses an inductive transmission path in which the fixed conductor loop handles power at 10-100 kHz. The conductor is formed as a loop with sections (1,2,3) in which one is active (1) and the others inactive (2,3). In the active one the current flows in specific directions (1ab and 1cd). The active loop interacts with and causes current to flow in the movable conductor loop (37). This contains a capacitor (38,40) and a resistor (39). Groups of switches are built into each loop (28,29,30) and are activated as inactive loops are brought into operation.
