Image and text in text in desk-top publishing of letter

摘要

A desk-top publishing system allows text to be combined with a motif, picture or some other form of graphical image to be introduced as part of a single process. The original of the image, e.g. photograph, is subjected to laser scanning to create a matrix of dots with a resolution of some 100-120 dots per inch. The information is processed to provide the required brightness and contrast and the data is organised with the overall size and format to suit the document. The data is then introduced into the text at the required location.
