Automatic hearing screening based on presence or absence of otoacoustic emissions

The screening uses parameters and threshold values specified from the outside or programmed in the permanent storage. The parameters and threshold values are used for the statistical computing and evaluation. The absence of the otoacustic emission (OAE) is derived from the signal/noise ratio also from the number of measurement cycles.To attain the measurement results no fixed number of measuring cycles is specified. However for minimising the measuring time intermediate results are computed. When the specified statistical result quality is reached, the measurement is temporarily ended.
