The vertical intervals (Y1,Y2) between the ends of the support arms and their pivot joint (3) can be individually adjusted and there is a third pivot joint (6) between the standing surface (7) and the end (1a) of the first arm (1). All joints (3,4,6) are equipped with devices to arrest the positions of the arms (1,2) and leg plate (5). The joints are designed as two discs (3a,b;4a,4b;6a,b) on respective common axes (3c,4c,6c), the discs radially toothed on their facing surfaces to engage an interposed ratchet disc (3d,4d,6d). The ratchets are in lever form (3e,4e,6e) and can tip relative the common axes (3a,4c,6c). The axis of joint (3) is lined up with the plate (5) length and a skid between standing surface and one of the lifting arms (1,2) is used to change the distance between arm end surface (7) and thus alter the angle of the leg plate. The skid is hinged to the arm end, lies in the length direction of the plate and is fitted with an adjuster to change the plate angle to the standing surface (7) as required.
