The device is shaped so that it can be easily attached to an appropriate plate on the individual, is mechanically secure against being slipped off or torn off, has protective circuits which release the working medium if an attempt is made to cut, forcibly remove, or to render the device ineffective; and is sealed into a plastic cover to protect against fluids. The sender system uses a coded signal to avoid external intervention, and the release signal can only be initiated by the sender system or another arrangement. The working medium is released if particular essential bodily functions of the guard. The device can be de-primed by a coded signal from a remote sender system.The device can be a neck- or ankle-band (1), powered by two cells (4) switched in parallel; with circuits completed by microswitches (3) in the buckle (2a, 2b); a receiver (8) for remote signals, a flexible circuit board (5), a sensor (12) for the remote de-priming signal, a switching circuit (9) to activate the fuse (11) and mechanism (10) for releasing the working medium; guarded by a meandering stop-signal-circuit (6). The working medium can be injected into the individual.
