Drying of absorbent electrical insulation material with emphasis on continuously effective operation

Plant for heating and drying or parts with absorbent insulating materials made of fibres or synthetics, used partic. in transformers, capacitors, transducers or connectors, under vacuum using the heat of condensation of the vapour of a heating liquid. During this process a liquid having a higher boiling point is released and forms a mixture with the heating liquid. The mixture is subsequently separated in vessel (1), which is evacuated by pump (13) via condensers (8,11) and evaporator (3) which is constructed as a continuous evaporator with a rising liquid stream. The liquid with the higher boiling point, which remains unvaporised but still contains some heating liquid, is freed of this in a secondary, gravity-fed, evaporator (7) and condenser (8) before passing to a storage vessel.
