The mfr. comprises covering surface of the plastic blank(s), which is of finished size, in a transparent layer (6), pref. PVC which bonds to the blank (5) surface. The transparent layer (6) is cut to a given size slightly smaller than the card (5) dimensions. Pref. laminating machine applies pressure from below the card (5). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for laminating a plastic protective layer onto an information carrying card, esp. credit or identity card. Simplifies the provision of a protective layer on individual cards and may also be used to include other layers.
