The cable support comprises a pylon (10) anchored in the ground and a bracket (11) fixed to the pylon head (12). The bracket has a lower cross member (15) whose central part forms a collar (18,19) locking, in the assembled position, the upper end of the pylon, and an upper cross member (14) supporting the pylon head. The lower cross member is fixed on the collar perimeter with downward projecting guide ropes (31,32) and to the upper cross member by centralising ropes (33,34) which engage the pylon head. After anchoring the pylon in the ground in a vertical or inclined position, the bracket is raised by a helicopter to balance above the pylon head. It is then firstly, lowered so that guide ropes guide the collar to engage on the pylon and secondly, the centralising ropes position the upper cross member on the pylon head.
