The ladder (10) comprises two lateral uprights (11) connected by transverse rungs (12). The uprights can be either rigid or have a central pivot (14). The spacing part comprises two telescopic support arms (20) of adjustable length which extend horizontally in the direction of the wall. The end of each arm has an anti-slip runner. When the ladder is rectilinear, the lower end of the uprights rest on the ground and the support arms are supported against the wall so as to move the top of the ladder away from the wall.
