Marker for biological study of birds or prey

The marker consists of a transmitter which is connected to the tail feathers of a bird of prey, especially a falcon, by a connector with a tube for the insertion of spring steel wires. The transmitter is powered by photo-electric cells and rechargeable batteries, and can be increased in size as the bird grows. A large bird, such as an eagle or vulture, for example, can carry a transmitter with three lithium button batteries giving autonomous operation for up to 400 hours.
