摘要
The liquefied gas (2), in cargo tank(2) (1) at about atmospheric pressure, supplies (4) naturally evaporating gas (3) to a compressor (5). Further supplies are obtained by pumping (8) liquefied gas through an evaporator (9). The gas passes to the prime mover (7), a diesel engine or gas turbine driving the screw (10) through a clutch (11). For high-speed diesel, or turbine, drive, a reduction gear (12) is included. Opt., quadruple diesel-electric drives are installed. For environmental reasons, gas cannot be vented, and burning must continue when the ship is stationary. Pumping (8) stops, and the prime mover, disconnected (11) from the screw, is connected by another clutch (13) to a Froude hydraulic brake (14). Opt., this is permanently connected, but normally run dry.
