The cap (10) for sealing a hose connected to a sack containing an infusion solution, having an external thread (20) engaged by the internal one (24) of the protective cap (12). A sealing cone (26) on the protective cap presses against an internal cone face (22) in the break-off cap. The threads fit closely together, allowing no axial free movement, and when screwed down tight the protective cap thread bears under friction against the outer periphery of the sealing cap adjacent to the thread on the latter. The sealing cone has a greater angle than the internal cone face, its dimensions being such that it bears against the latter only over a narrow area in the axial direction.
