Welded stud-bolt, for use e.g. in motor vehicle assembly

The stud-bolt has a head (3) shaped to receive a tool, and a threaded shank (6) of smaller diameter, forming a shoulder (10), and a blind nut (2) which fits onto the threaded shank and has a projecting tip (9) at the opposite end to its threaded aperture (8). The tip is conical in shape, with a 45-degree angle of taper, and it can have grooves. The blind nut and/or the stud-bolt can have a metal coating, preferably of zinc, over at least certain sections, or the stud-bolt can be made from steel and the nut from stainless steel.
