The fixing for rods (10,12) consists of first and second C-shaped collars (16,18) which fit onto the two rods and are connected by an adjuster (20) and a spacer (22). The gaps in the two collars are slightly greater than the diameter of the rods, and the adjuster has two threaded ends (26,28) to screw into threaded holes (166,186) in the collars and a central through channel (30) for the spacer. The middle of the adjuster can be rotated in either direction with a tool, and the spacer has a specific length to determine the distance between the rods.
