Fireplace damper for sealing and preventing heat losses

The fireplace damper is constituted by a very thin roller shutter made of stainless steel which winds on and off a roller (2). The roller rotates at its ends (22,23) in bearings (21,22) in a metal protection and fixing cover (4). The shutter engages two side uprights (5,6) which hold it in position. The roller has a return torsion spring and the shutter is ballasted at its base by a bar (7) having an operating handle (8). The shutter descends along and inside the side uprights and is immobilised on a section (10) made of magnetic material. The cover is fixed at the top of the chimney opening and on the side uprights which are fixed on the internal sides of the chimney.
