A front frame structure of a cab over type vehicle comprises a side member 2 in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle, an aluminium alloy frame section 5 connected with the front end of the side member, a front cross member 3 connected with the front end of the frame section, a front bumper (6) provided adjacent to the front cross member, an aluminium foam 52 and a supporting plate 21 inserted in the frame section. When a head-on impact is applied to the vehicle body, impact energy is transmitted to the aluminium frame section 5 through the bumper (6) and the front cross member 3 and frame section are subjected to a buckling deformation together with the aluminium foam 52. The impact energy can be effectively absorbed within a small crush space of the vehicle. In other embodiments the supporting plate 21 may be omitted or have 8 collision sensor attached. IMAGE
