MASSIVELY TRANSPORTABLE CHAIN LADDER FOR EMERGENCY EVACUATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equipment for emergency evacuation which can reliably and safely carry and evacuate the large number and quantity of people and things even if power failure is caused in a building. ;SOLUTION: A chain ladder is constituted by integrally forming at least a freely bendable ladder in which a chain part 1 is continuouly arranged, a pair of closed tracks 2 which can endlessly rotate the freely bendable ladder and have a C-shaped cross section and a control device to control rotation of the ladder by a fixing device 4. The chain part 1 is composed of a chain shaft, a hollow cylinder, a chain plate and a bearing. The chain shaft reaches the left and right tracks by penetrating through holes arranged in the hollow cylinder and the chain plate. The bearing is rotatably arranged on both ends of the chain shaft, and rotates by being housed inside the tracks 2. The control device is a gear speed reducing constant speed device 3 to reduce rotational speed of a load gear 34 meshing with the chain part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
