PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the adhesion of tar and ash generated by the combustion of blended coal on the wall surface of a carbonization chamber of a coke oven. SOLUTION: The objective apparatus 3 for applying a high-temperature refractory is composed of a mobile truck 7 placed at the coke pusher-side 4 of a carbonization chamber 2 and movable forward and backward out of a coke oven along the longitudinal direction of the carbonization chamber, a horizontal lance 10 the rear end of which is attached to the mobile truck 7 and horizontally movable forward and backward in longitudinal direction under the carbonization chamber 2 from an end to the other end, a vertical lance 11 erected from the tip end of the horizontal lance 10 in the direction of the height of the carbonization chamber 2 and spray nozzles 12 directing toward the wall surface of the carbonization chamber 2 and arranged in multiple stages in the direction of the height of the vertical lance 11 to apply a high-temperature refractory material to the wall surface.
