EVALUATION OF SALT RESISTANCE OF PLANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating salt resistance of plant, capable of evaluating a large amount of individuals in a laboratory level in a short time simply by comparing the resistances to salt based on the growth rates when seedlings are treated with a solution of NaCl and washed and evaluating the salt resistances of plants. ;SOLUTION: The salt resistances of plants are evaluated from the growth or survival rates obtained by treating seedlings with a solution of NaCl, washing, cultivating the seedlings under suitable culture conditions. Preferably the growth recovery possible period by desalting treatment in the case in which a plant is damaged with salt is judged from the growth or survival rate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
