PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embody the suction or collection of slag or sludge produced in a molten metal bath and floating or deposited on the bottom with a gas lifter or a piping component layout without using a rotary item, such as a pump. ;SOLUTION: The area from the position of slag to be sucked and the slag collection position is connected to a pipeline filled with a molten metal. Gas is fed into the lower part of a vertical pipeline 2 at the collection intended position, thereby embodying pumping effect based on a differential gravity between the gas and the molten metal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
