FLARE HEADER AND AIR CONDITIONER USING THE FLARE HEADER

PURPOSE: To provide a flare header facilitating connection of refrigerant pipes of outdoor and indoor units in a multiple type air conditioner, and the air conditioner using the flare head. ;CONSTITUTION: In a multiple type air conditioner, a flange 33 is formed at the fore end of a base pipe 35 of a flare header 21 distributing a refrigerant to a plurality of refrigerant pipes, while flares 37a are formed at the fore ends of branch pipes 37. The flange 33 of the base pipe 35 is joined with the flange of the refrigerant pipe on the outdoor unit side, while the flares 37a of the branch pipes 37 are connected with the refrigerant pipes of an indoor unit by flare connection. Therefore a welding operation is dispensed with and the refrigerant pipes can be connected with ease.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
