PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitting-side simulator and simulating method in which an analog voice signal can be satisfactorily regenerated on receiving side. ;SOLUTION: This simulator has an AD converter 2a for inputting an analog voice signal, which is provided with a transmitting device having a pre-emphasis circuit 14 for inputting a voice signal, a modulating means 15 of the voice signal from the circuit 14, a noise reducing device 16 using a level compressing circuit for improving the SN ratio of the voice signal deteriorated by the means 15, and a transmitting means of the modulated voice signal, and a receiving device having a receiving means and a de-emphasis circuit; a voice processing means 3 capable of frequency-analyzing the digitally converted digital voice signal and also working the voice signal; and a DA converter 2b. The digital voice signal inputted to the voice processing means 3 is Fourier-transformed while applying a time window, the energy in time and frequency spaces is calculated, and two-dimensionally graphed displayed to perform a pattern analysis, and a simulation is performed by use of the data of pre-emphasis curve, the characteristic data of the transmitting-side level compressing circuit, and the receiving-side characteristic data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
