PLASTIC FLOW JOINING METHOD AND INSPECTING DEVICE OF PLASTIC FLOW JOINING STRENGTH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plastic flow joining method which measures and evaluates the joining force non-destructively while joining with plastic flow by calculating the joining strength caused on the plastic deformation based on the movement amount of a ram and the force used on the ram. ;SOLUTION: A plastic flow joining method to join a 1st member 90 having an opposite joining face and a 2nd joining member 91 with a plastic flow joining device providing a ram 2 to press a member 9 to be joined. Recessing parts more than one piece or recessing parts and projecting parts more than one pair are installed on the mutually opposite places of the joining faces of the 1st and 2nd members 90, 91. By pressing a joining member 92 composed of a material to deform plastically to the above places, the joining member 92 is deformed plastically inside the recessing part or recessing and projecting part and the above 1st and 2nd members 90, 91 are joined. After pressing, the ram 2 is returned to the original place. The force applied on the ram 2 during pressing is detected with a force detector 6 and the position of the ram is detected with a position detector, these are sent to a controller 8 and here the joining force is calculated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
