PURPOSE: To obtain a method and apparatus for measuring the weight of an object accurately when the object is lifted and transferred, and a garbage truck equipped with the metric apparatus. ;CONSTITUTION: The metric apparatus comprises a unit 3 for lifting an object 4 being fed to an accepting position and transferring the object 4 to a delivering position, a load cell 2A secured to the side face of an arm 3b of the transfer unit 3 for lifting the object 4 in order to detect the load applied to the movable side from displacement thereof with respect to the fixed part in the direction of longitudinal axis Q, a circuit 7 for processing signals from the load cell 2A a plurality of times when the object is lifted to produce a plurality of metric values, and means 8 for determining the weight of the object 4 based on the maximum metric value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
