PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to automatically close a main valve temporarily when air is sucked from a well point and eliminate the need to open and close the valve by hand all day long by knowing which of water and air flows in from a riser pipe in advance through a pilot valve and automatically opening and closing the main valve. ;SOLUTION: The main valve 1 is interposed between the riser pipe 2 and a header pipe 3 and a valve body 4 is coupled with a diaphragm 7 partitioning the diaphragm chamber 6 of a valve box 5 into an upper chamber 6a and a lower chamber 6b which is open to the atmosphere. The upper end of a valve rod 16 interposed in a pilot duct 11 connecting the exit-side chamber 5a of the main valve 1 to the lower chamber 6b is so provided as to close the upper chamber communication hole 20 of a ventilation chamber 19 linked to the upper chamber 6a through a drain duct 18. The lower end of the valve rod 16 is inserted into a float chamber 22 and a pilot valve 12 is provided so that the valve body 13 can move up by a float 23 against a spring, thereby automatically opening and closing the main valve 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
