PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject fiber (structure) capable of providing highly pilling property and sufficient practical strength also in thin woven or knitted fabric without impairing elegant touch feeling and fast water-absorbing property by crosslinking and modifying a cellulosic fiber with a diglycidyl ether compound or a polyglycidyl ether compound using sodium sulfate or potassium sulfate as a catalyst. ;SOLUTION: A solvent spun cellulosic fiber is crosslinked and modified in a state of raw staple, sliver, spun yarn or woven or knitted fabric by diglycidyl ether compound or a polyglycidyl ether compound using sodium sulfate or potassium sulfate as a catalyst in a catalyst concentration of ≥50g/l to provide the objective fiber (structure) capable of uniformly carrying out antipilling modification in a short time without requiring rubbing and striking processing and cellulase treatment and having ≥4.3g/d average single fiber strength, ≥4 class and ≤1sec water absorbing rate of woven or knitted fabric.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
