SOLUTION: A widening-and-centering apparatus is provided with a left-side spiral roller 3 and a right-side spiral roller 5 whose front ends are close to each other and which are placed on a common shaft. On the peripheral surfaces of the right and left spiral rollers 3, 5, protruding spiral lines 16, 17, whose spiral directions are opposite to each other, are formed in a protruding state. A sheet-shaped material 2 is supported from the lower side by the right and left spiral rollers 3, 5 having the above structures, and the sheet-shaped material 2 is moved in a state where the material is widened and its center is kept by the specified rotation of both the rollers 3, 5.
