PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to handle fluid for corroding graphite and other most metals. ;SOLUTION: The graphite heat exchange assembly 10 for efficiently heat transferring between process fluid and service fluid comprises thermal conductive graphite body 20 having outer surface and a plurality of holes 72 for receiving the process fluid. A plurality of channels 74 receive the service fluid. The efficient heat transfer between the process fluid and the service fluid is expedited by the holes and the channels. A plurality of silicon carbide tubes 80, 180, 280 having exposed ends and inner diameters are provided in the holes, channels or the both. Fluoropolymer coating is formed on the outer surface of the graphite and the end of the tube. The coating is not formed on the inner periphery of the tube.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
