PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To concentrate the coal in coal-water slurry and reduce the crashing power to increase the removal efficiency of crude particles by carrying out the wet milling in a lower concentration than that of the coal-water slurry product and utilizing that the temperature of the coal-water slurry is high at the exit of the wet mill to vaporize the water ;SOLUTION: In the production of high-concentration coal-water slurry comprising the coal, water and a dispersing agent-mixing step and the coal-wet-milling step, the wet-milling step is carried out in a wet mill 12 in a concentration of 0.6-3.0wt.% lower than the set concentration of the coal-water slurry product to adjust the particle sizes in the range from 75-85wt.% of less than 200 mesh. Then, the slurry is concentrated to the prescribed concentration in the water vaporizer 20 utilizing the heat of the coal-water slurry as at least a part of the heat source.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
