PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming element which is suitable for silver salt diffusion transfer method to produce a planographic printing plate having excellent planographic printing property at a low cost and/or by an ecological method. ;SOLUTION: This production method includes a process to coat a base body with an image accepting layer containing physical developing nuclei and with a photosensitive layer containing photosensitive silver halide which has relation with the image accepting layer for permeation of water. In this method, the physical developing nuclei consist of a substantially uniform solid soln. of two or more kinds of metals and are produced by a pulsed high flux radiolysis radiation decomposition. The image forming element thus produced is exposed to light for an image and developed with an alkali treating liquid in the presence of a developing base and a solvent for silver halide to obtain a planographic printing plate according to silver complex diffusion transfer method (DTR).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
