PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of safely completely combusting a combustible substance contained in plastics effectually without leaking any harmful substance into the atmosphere, and provide also a waste-gas utilization method of the apparatus. ;SOLUTION: This apparatus is for reducing the volume of waste plastics by drying and burning out the waste plastics. The apparatus comprises a combustion furnace body 24 composed of a conveyor 22 having a fire grate 25 at its bottom and being operated intermittently or continuously, of a drying chamber 23 disposed facing the lower surface of the conveyor 22, of a plurality of suction wind boxes 27 disposed facing the lower surface of the conveyor 22 located downstream the drying chamber, and of a combustion chamber having a plurality of partition chambers disposed and defined corresponding to each combustion stage below the wind boxes 27, and a firing device 13 disposed on the upper portion of the combustion region of the conveyor 22.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
