NETWORK TOPOLOGY RECOGNITION METHOD AND NETWORK TOPOLOGY RECOGNITION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network topology recognition method in which a physical topology of a network including a bridge as one of nodes is recognized. ;SOLUTION: After network discovery processing is executed, a simple network management protocol SNMP is used to acquire a medium access control MAC address (S1), a MAC address corresponding to a bridge is extracted and adjacent master bridge of each bridge is checked (S2). Then an object corresponding to the bridge is accumulatingly connected from a master to a slave. Thus, the physical bridge topology is generated (S3). Then based on a learning table corresponding to inter-node communication recording, nodes taking part in communication actually are checked and only the nodes are connected in addition to the physical bridge topology. Thus, the physical topology is generated. Then network management or the like corresponding to a current condition of the network is realized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
