PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network topology recognition method in which a physical topology of a network including a bridge as one of nodes is recognized. ;SOLUTION: After network discovery processing is executed, a simple network management protocol SNMP is used to acquire a medium access control MAC address (S1), a MAC address corresponding to a bridge is extracted and adjacent master bridge of each bridge is checked (S2). Then an object corresponding to the bridge is accumulatingly connected from a master to a slave. Thus, the physical bridge topology is generated (S3). Then based on a learning table corresponding to inter-node communication recording, nodes taking part in communication actually are checked and only the nodes are connected in addition to the physical bridge topology.
