PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a crack from being generated in a sheath of a composite insulator and a parting line part of a cap part. ;SOLUTION: When a sheath and a cap part of a composite insulator equipped with holding metal fittings 5, 6 fitted by being inserted to both end parts of a core rod 4, a sheath covering over all periphery of the core rod 4 between both holding metal fittings, and cap parts provided at a plurality of positions at intervals in a length direction, are molded by filling an insulating polymer material into a cavity 3 to be cured, the core rod 4 is held by being positioned at a specific position in the cavity with retainer rings 7, 8 fitted to the holding metal fittings 5, 6, and a surplus content of the insulating polymer material filled in the cavity is made to flow outside the cavity from between the holding metal fittings 5, 6 and the retainer rings 7, 8.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
