PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate distortion from current waveform at the time of dead time compensation. ;SOLUTION: The dead time compensator comprises a dead time compensation means 81 for calculating a compensation pulse width based on the output pulse width and dead time of a pulse width modulated signal, and a pulse width regulation means 82 for calculating a regulated pulse width based on the compensated pulse width and generating a pulse width regulated signal depending son the regulated pulse width. Upon generation of a pulse width modulated signal, the dead time compensation means 81 calculates a compensated pulse width while the pulse width requlation means 82 calculates a regulated pulse width based on the compensated pulse width and generates a pulse width regulated signal.
