PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of equipments and installation area required for a device by vibrating slurry filled in a tank body to cause a liquid component to flow upward to the upper zone of the tank body and discharging the liquid component, i.e., supernatant liquid, out of the tank body. SOLUTION: A separation board 13 comprising a grid board is stretched over the upper surface of a sand layer 15. A sand column 19 is erected in a slurry sump 11. The upper part of the column 19 reaches a supernatant liquid 10 on the upper surface of the slurry sump 11. The liquid 10 flows down into the column 19, through the sand layer 15, a crushed-stone layer 17 so as to be discharged outside from a filtered liquid outlet port 5 or a filtered liquid outlet pipe 35. And a vibrator 21 is set in the sump 11. The vibrator 21 imparts vibration to the slurry in the sump 11. As a result, the filtered liquid can be easily drawn out so that filtration is accelerated and a liquid collected in the upper layer of solid component remaining on the layer 15 is caused to leak upward so as to be formed into the supernatant liquid 10, and is discharged through the column 19 or a supernatant liquid outlet pipe 31.
