PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly detect the presence of Acanthamoeba with high sensitivity by containing an IgM type monoclonal antibody specific to a plurality of human parasitic Acanthamoeba in a detecting reagent. ;SOLUTION: The detecting reagent for Acanthamoeba is formed out of an IgM type monoclonal antibody formed by use of amoebas separated from a patient infected with the Acanthamoeba as antigen, a carrier, and an additive. When a subject is dipped in the detecting reagent and brought into contact with it, the Acanthamoeba, when present in the subject, is reacted with the monoclonal antibody in the reagent and bonded thereto. A secondary antibody having the antibody activity to this antibody is brought into contact with the subject, and reacted therewith. The secondary antibody is labeled, and the amoebas are labeled through two kinds of antibodies. Thereafter, the subject is washed, and a label detection is performed after a treatment according to the label.
