PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy material formable by forging, by imparting excellent corrosion resistance to the magnesium alloy material. ;SOLUTION: This magnesium alloy material is composed of an alloy composition consisting of 4.0-10.5wt.% Al, 0.004wt.% Fe, ≤0.002wt.% Ni and 0.015wt.% Cu, and a crystal structure having ≤200μm particle diameter.
