NUT FOR MOUNTING DECK CROSS MEMBER FOR AUTOMOBILE, DECK CROSS MEMBER MOUNTING STRUCTURE OF AUTOMOBILE USING THE NUT, AND MOUNTING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a cross member from the outside of a front pillar by forming a screw hole in which a bolt for fastening inserted through a front in a nut is screwed and a nut drive hole in which a tool for rotation inserted through a front in a similar manner as above is inserted. ;SOLUTION: A nut 10 is screwed in the end face of a cross member 22 to a head part 12 and deep to a given mounting position between front pillars 24. A tool 26, such as a hexagonal wrench, is inserted through a work hole 28 into a nut drive hole 20 from the outside of a front pillar 24. By operating the tool, the front of the head part 12 of the nut 10 is forced into contact with the back of the front pillar 24. In such a way that, with this state, a bolt 30 for fastening is screwed in through the work hole 28 into a screw hole 18 from the outside of the front pillar 24, the cross member 22 is fixed. In this case, provided the threads of the screw 16 and the screw hole 18 are formed in the reverse direction to each other, when the bolt 30 is fastened, no gap is provided between the bolt and the front pillar 24.
