PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve harvesting operation efficiency by clamping and conveying each spring onion, digged out of a ridge, almost in a raised state, securely removing earth from the root group of respective spring onions, and securely cutting the root group and successively harvesting the spring onions. ;SOLUTION: The machine is provided with a digging body 22 which digs spring onions. Further, the machine is provided with a couple of endless rotation bodies 34 which are positioned behind the digging body 22 and rotates inward in mutually opposite directions opposite each other and then clamp and convey respective spring onions backward. A root cutter 49 is fitted rotatably which are positioned below the conveyance end part of the couple of endless rotation bodies 34 and cuts the root groups of the respective spring onions. A root cutting preprocessing means 54 is fitted which is positioned below the couple of endless rotation bodies 34, and removes earth from the root groups of the respective spring onions conveyed by the couple of endless rotation bodies 34, puts the root cutting positions of the respective spring onions in order, and guides them to the root cutter 49.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
