PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a hard coat layer high in hardness and excellent in scuff resistance by coating a resin molding with a compsn. comprising a water-soluble polymer obtd. by the hydrolysis/condensation of a specific silane compd. and a specific water- dispersible polymer. ;SOLUTION: A silane compd. of the formula (wherein R1 is H, lower alkyl, aryl, or unsatd. aliph. residue; R2 is H, lower alkyl, or acyl; m is 0, 1, or 2; n is 2, 3, or 4; and n+m=4) is subjected to a hydrolysis/condensation reaction in an aq. solvent to obtain a water-soluble polymer (A). 0.1-30.0wt.% polymerizable monomer having a functional group capable of radical polymn. and acting as a catalyst for the above- mentioned hydrolysis/condensation reaction and/or polymerizable monomer having a functional group capable of radical polymn. and reactive with the Si(OR2) group of the above-mentioned silane compd. for bond formation is emulsion-polymerized together with 70.0-99.9wt.% other radical-polymerizable monomer in water to obtain a water-dispersible polymer (B).
