PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring the amount of a large strain of a minute area simply and highly accurately. ;SOLUTION: Four points A, B, C, D are set to an object to be measured. After the object is deformed, positions of corresponding points E, F, G, H to the four points A, B, C, D are measured. A quadrilateral EFGH is moved in parallel so that the E point overlaps with the A point. Distances Lx, Ly in an X-axis direction of the points E and F, a Y-axis direction of the points E and H are operated as an X coordinate and a Y coordinate of the points F, H, from which main strains ε1, ε2 and main shear strains γ1, γ2 are operated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
