PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate odors due to an ammonia gas in the process or from a discharged liquid, to prevent fog, irregular processing or stain in a silver halide black-and-white film after the treatment, to prevent precipitation in a washing process or stabilizing process and to decrease or eliminate the amt. of waste liquid of the discharged water for washing or the stabilizer in the washing process or stabilizing process. ;SOLUTION: This device is provided with a developing process (D), fixing process (F) and washing process (W) or stabilizing process, and a photographic film is continuously processed while a replenisher is supplied according to the processing amt. The washing process (W) or stabilizing process is carried out by a counter flow method, and the discharged liquid of the washing water or the stabilizer in the washing process (W) or stabilizing process is directly or indirectly supplied to a fixing liquid. The amt. of the replenisher for the washing process (W) or stabilizing process is between ≥50cc and ≤1000cc per 1m² of a silver halide black-and-white film. The replenisher supplied to the fixing process contains chlorine ion or bromine ion, or a compd. which releases these ions, and sodium thiosulfate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
