PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus, for the viscosity of a mixed paste (CWP) of a coarse powder coal, fine powder coal and water, by which the CWP whose property is stable can be supplied continuously by a method wherein the viscosity of the CWP is measured on-line and the adjustment of the viscosity is controlled. ;SOLUTION: A guide plate 105 is installed so as to be tilted inside a bypass flow passage by which a part of a flow passage used to send and feed a CWP manufactured by a kneader 80 to a CWP storage tank is bypassed, and the CWP is introduced continuously into a CWP viscosity measuring container 110 while it is being slid on the guide plate. The viscosity of the CWP which is introduced into the viscosity measuring container is found by measuring a stirring torque while a pin-type rotor 115 is turned. The CWP, in a definite amount, inside the viscosity measuring container 110 is discharged continuously by a feeder 141 at the bottom part of the viscosity measuring container 110 so as to be sent and fed to the CWP storage tank. Thereby, the value of the viscosity (the stirring torque) of the CWP flowing at a constant flow rate (a flow velocity) becomes constant, and the stable value can be measured continuously.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
