ELECTRODYNAMIC HIGH VOLTAGE MACHINE AND/OR DEVICE FOR PARTIAL DISCHARGE LOCATION IN HIGH VOLTAGE FACILITY AND METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To locate a trouble easily by detecting a high frequency electromagnetic signal produced when a partial discharge takes place at a plurality of measuring positions being set at an interval on the conductor of high voltage machine/high voltage facility. ;SOLUTION: Output units 16-18 are connected electrically with a conductor 2 of high voltage machine or high voltage facility at a plurality of points being set at an interval in order to detect a high frequency electromagnetic signal being generated upon occurrence of a partial discharge. The high frequency electromagnetic signal is delivered through a coaxial cable comprising electric conductors 13-15 to an evaluation unit where the time sequence of signal is recorded and correlation of at least two signals is determined thus locating the partial discharge in high voltage machine/high voltage facility. According to the arrangement, a trouble (failure) or an anticipated trouble can be detected in the early stage.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
