PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be also applicable to the vehicle, a high car height and a long side column, of a high roof vehicle by a method wherein the lower part of a side column is supported at the outrigger of an under body. ;SOLUTION: A side column lower support structure is such that flange parts 313 formed at the three surfaces of the opening part of the side of one end of a first gusset 31 are spot-welded on the three surfaces of the side wall of the rail center 13 of an inner pillar 12. A bottom flange port 314 at the other end of the first gusset 31 is spot-welded to the upper flange parts 25 and 26 of the outrigger 2 of an under body. Further, since a flange part 322 at one end is spot-welded on the inner wall surfaces of the side walls 311 and 312 of the first gusset 31 and a flange part 322 at the other end of a second gusset 32 is spot-welded at the inner side wall 231 of an outrigger 2, a side column coupled to an upper body is coupled and supported at the outrigger 2 of the under body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
