METHOD FOR WORKING SQUARE HOLE OF LENS OF SPECTACLES AND LENS SEAL FOR WORKING ITS SQUARE HOLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To work a square hole with a specified dimension from a round hole without skill and simply by making the round hole in a lens of spectacles and then, working a square hole while the corner of a hand file is fitted to a crossline of a lens seal. ;SOLUTION: At first, a horizontal line 2 is drawn to the optical center of a lens 1 of spectacles and after grinding the lens is completed, a lens protective tape is sticked on the specified surface of the lens 1. Then, after the position of the square hole is read from a gauge, the position of the square hole is marked on the lens for the spectacles. Then, a lens seal 3 is positioned and sticked by fitting it to the position of the square hole. Then, a round hole with a diameter of e.g. 2.5mm is once made on the lens 1 of the spectacles by fitting it to a mark 3d for making the hole attached on the lens seal 3. Then, while the corner of a hand file is fitted to a crossline 3e marked on the lens seal 3, the square hole is worked by grinding successively four corners, upper right, upper left, lower right and lower right.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
