PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fireproof coating having improved flame-retardance, fireproofness and foamability of the coating film by reacting a composition containing a melamine-coated ammonium polyphosphate and one or more kinds of specific triazine derivatives with formaldehydes. ;SOLUTION: A reaction product (A) is produced by reacting 100 pts.wt. of a melamine-coated ammonium polyphosphate containing 0.5-20wt.% of applied melamine monomer with 0.5-6 times equivalent (based on the molar number of melamine molecules in the above material) of formaldehydes. A 2nd reaction product (B) is produced by reacting 0.1-30 pts.wt. of a triazine derivative of formula I [R1 is methyl, phenyl, a group of formula II or formula III (R2 is phenyl or a 1-12C alkyl; R3 is H or methyl)] or its mixture with 0.1-10 times equivalent (based on the sum of the active hydrogen equivalent of the amino group of the mixture) of formaldehydes. A fireproofing agent (C) is produced by the condensation reaction of the component A with the component B. A fireproof coating (D) is obtained by adding 50-800 pts.wt. of the agent C to 100 pts.wt. of a synthetic resin binder.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
