PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce consumption power, so as to improve efficiency of automatic measuring work, by driving a sending element by a transmitting circuit so that a pulse group may be immediately sent by a contact detecting signal from a contact detecting means regardless of the specified time interval, and supplying power from a battery to respective circuits of a measuring tool. ;SOLUTION: When a pulse group composed of a plurality of pulses of space transmission wave are sent from a transmitting circuit 25 at the specified interval to a sending element 104, the sending element 104 is so driven that the pulse group including the contact detecting data may be immediately sent by a contact detecting signal from a contact detecting means for detecting the contact of a measuring element with a work piece regardless of the specified time interval. Power is supplied from a battery 10 to respective circuits of a measuring tool. Therefore, power consumption can be reduced, and automatic measuring work can be efficiently performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
